Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning approach that integrates human-equine interaction in order to promote the development of life skills for educational, professional, and personal growth.
Dream Catchers provides an EAL curriculum that challenges youth to focus on communication, teamwork, problem solving, choices and consequences, healthy boundaries, and identifying personal strengths. During each 8-week session, a group of up to 10 youth connect with horses and complete activities that challenge each of these focus areas.
Dream Catchers also offers two-hour EAL field trips, each called a “Day of Discovery,” that encompass activities that cater to the sensory, physical, and social needs of the group’s participants.
Dream Catchers’ currently partners with two local organizations who serve youth and families to bring the life-changing power of ‘equine assisted learning (EAL) to their clients.
