2017 Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning: April 5th-8th

"The Equine Specialist workshop is a three-day workshop offered to equine professionals and therapeutic riding instructors who work or would like to work with students with mental health and/or learning issues. 2017 Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning Activities Day: April 9th 

This workshop is for individuals who have at least taken the Equine Specialist Workshop and either have, or are working towards, the certification. Attendees will learn specific activities and how to adapt them to working with various populations.

2017 Evidence Based Instructor Training Skills for Autism Workshop: June 22nd-24th

Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center, a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Riding Center in Williamsburg, VA, has developed and conducted research on an innovative approach to therapeutic riding for children with autism. An interdisciplinary team of researchers has documented positive effects of this therapeutic riding program on social communication and sensory processing skills that transferred into home and school settings. After several publications and conference presentations, the Dream Catchers team is now offering specialized training for PATH certified instructors of therapeutic riding programs to improve their services to children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This 2 1/2 day specialized training program will be held at Dream Catchers’ Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center in Williamsburg, VA. Click here for more information!
