About Dream Catchers

Thank you for your interest in our programs!  Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) Premier Accredited Center.  We provide a variety of programs and services to children and adults from age 4 through senior citizens all utilizing the unique qualities of horses.  Our programs are taught by certified professionals who bring years of experience to our team and who put safety and best practices first.

About Our Adult Horsemanship Classes

Looking for something fun to do this fall and winter?

Look no further than Dream Catchers’ Adult Horsemanship Classes. Each lesson will focus on:

* Horse Safety

* Equine behavior and how to develop a meaningful partnership with your horse

* Grooming and tacking

* Ground based techniques to safely lead and communicate with your horse

* Learn proper mounted communication skills

* Learn and practice riding skills based on experience



Class placement will depend on riding ability level.Applicants will be placed in groups that match their skill set.

Each class will run for 2 hours, 1 time a week and will include both mounted and unmounted education.

Dress Code:  Please dress for riding, working outside and in the barn.  Riding or long pants are preferred as well as closed toe shoes or tennis shoes.

Riding Helmets:  We require each participant to bring their own ASTM/SEI certified helmet.  Expired helmets will not be permitted (must be within 5 years of the manufactures date).  Please contact Beth Yurkovac, Operations Manager at 757-566-1775, ext 300 if you are unable to provide your own helmet.

Weight Limit: Maximum weight is 250 pounds (assuming Dream Catchers has a horse available to meet this guideline)

Sessions and Cost

2020 Fall Session runs from 9/8/20 to 11/21/20, Cost is $660.00, and registration deadline 8/28/20

2020-21 Winter Session runs from 11/30/20 to 3/6/21, Cost is $720.00, and registration deadline is 11/1/20
